Type Prague Guided Missile Cruisers

These ships were developed by the Design Bureau "Namorzhni hvezdichka" (Prsherov). There were built 6 ships of this type. The construction of these ships produced at the Trshinets Shipyard.

The main task for the Type Prague guided missile cruisers - is the missile strikes on enemy ships and enemy territory, the collective defense of ships against air attack and submarine threats. In addition, due to its multi-purpose guided missile cruisers can be engaged to act as part of the amphibious forces and convoys escort transports groups in the seas and oceans, as well as to provide fire support for the landings and reconnaissance.

Currently Type Prague cruisers thanks to its powerful weapons are on a par with the like U.S. Ticonderoga guided missile cruisers and Russian Project 1164 (Slava Class) guided missile cruisers.
